CONVERSION OF UNSATURATED LONG-CHAIN FATTY ACIDS TO 10-HYDROXY FATTY ACIDS BY RESTING CELLS OF Nocardia sp.

摘要: Resting cells of Nocardia sp.were used to convert a series of unsaturated long-chain fatty acids to 10-hydroxy fatty acids.Structures of all metabolites were suggested by 1H nuclear magnetic resonance and by infrared and mass spectrum.The results showed that the hydroxylation stereospecificity happened at the cis-9 double bond with other position unaffected.
