Catalytic Ring-Opening Polymerization of Cycloalkenes by Mo(CO)₆ System

The ring-opening polymerization of cyclopentene,cyclohexene,α-pinene and ter-pene catalyzed by Mo(CO)₆ with CH_nX_4-n(n=0,1;X=Cl,Br) under UV irradiation has been studied. It was found that addition of small amount of anhydrous AlCl₃ promoted the polymerization. The optimum conditions of polymerization were reported.
