Studies of Cotton Stalk Cellulose Modification Ⅰ. Preparation and Adsorptive Property of Nitrogen Containing Cotton Stalk Cellulose Derivatives

Cotton stalk cellulose ether(CE) having active epoxy groups was prepared by reaction of alkaline cotton stalk cellulose with epichlorohydrin. Two nitrogen containing cotton stalk cellulose derivatives(CENB, CENH) were then obtained by reacting CE with 5,8-diazadodecane and ethylenediamine, respectively. They exhibited better adsorptive capacities to Hg²⁺, Pb²⁺, Cd²⁺, Cr³⁺ and Cu²⁺ ions and could be used repeatedly as anion exchanger.
