Studies on Polyvinyl Chloride/Nitrile-Butadiene Rubber/Chlorobutyl Rubber Ternary Blends

This paper discussed the mechanical properties and the morphologies of PVC/NBR/CR ternary blends. The results of DMA,SEM and TEM indicated that NBR was a good compatibilizer for blends. Addition of small amounts (3% or 4%) NBR improved the impact strength of blends and caused the shift in T_g of PVC and CR to lower temperature compared with that of pure PVC and CR, demonstrating that the interaction between the two phases had been enlarged.
