A polymeric borohydride anion reducing reagent (BER) was preparedfromhome-made 7ll^# strong basic anion-exchange resin and potassium borohydride,The BER has a capacity of 3.2mmol BH₄^⊖/g.The procedure of ester reduction by using this polymeric reductant was simple and gave a higher yield of alcohols.The polymeric reductant can be regenerated and used repeatedly.
