Two new benzothiazole-pyrimidine chromophores were designed and synthesized.The structures of the molecules were characterized by IR,¹H MNR,UV-Vis and so on.The second order nonlinear optical properties of both chromophores were determined by hyper Rayleigh scattering method.The results showed that the two new molecules exhibited excellent optic penetrability;the maximum absorption wavelengths of the compounds were less then 487 nm,and their critical wavelengths were below 550 nm.The compounds had high β values of 3.70×10^-28 and 3.90×10^-28 esu at 1 064 nm wavelength,respectively.These compounds were thermally stable with decomposition temperatures of 299 and 302 ℃,respectively,and consequently they could be considered for the preparation of NLO materials.
