A series of powder phosphors of CaF₂:Ce³⁺ were prepared by solid state reaction. Three luminous centers were found and the fransformation among them has been examined. The effects of different cation charge-compensators on the spectral charactreristies of CaF2:Ce³⁺ have been investigated also. It showed that different luminous centers resulted from different charge compensating ways.
