The electrocatalytic oxidation of formic acid on poly(2,5-dimethoxyaniline) (PDMA) film modified with Pt microparticles has been studied by cyclic voltammetry. The morphology and structure of the electrode were examined by SEM and XPS. The Pt microparticles with av. size of 300 nm produced by cyclic voltammetry were highly dispersed in and on the PDMA. The modified electrode exhibits a very high electrocatalytic activity for the oxidation of formic acid in 0.5 mol/L HClO4 and the catalytic activity was found in dependence on the Pt loading, kind of anions, reaction temperature and concentration of the formic acid.
