Preparation and Characterization of Hexagonal Ferrite La_xBa_1-xFe₁₂O₁₉

Hexagonal ferrite samples of La_xBa_1-xFe₁₂O₁₉ (x≤0.2) have been prepared by a sol-gel method. The composition ratios of the samples were confirmed by atomic absorption spectrometry and chemical analysis. The results of XRD, DTA, TGA and SEM showed that the samples have the same crystal structure as barium ferrite, with grain sizes being less than 1 μm.
