Synthesis of Tetra(4-p-decanoyloxyphenyl) Porphyrin Complexes

Six complexes of tetra (4-p-decanoyloxyphenyl) porphyrin (TDPPH₂) with Mn(Ⅲ),Fe(Ⅲ),Co(Ⅱ),Ni(Ⅱ),Cu(Ⅱ) and Zn(Ⅱ) have been synthesized in a mixed solvents of CH₂Cl₂ and DMF.The compounds were characterized by elemental analysis,UV-Vis,FTIR photoacoustic spectrometry,¹H NMR and molar conductance measurements.The optical textures of the isotropic liquid crystals of TDPPH₂ and TDPPZn on cooling were observed by polarized light microscope.
