Synthesis and Biological Activity of 2-Arylaminomethyl-2-ethoxycarbonyl-cyclododecanone

Eight Mannich bases were synthesized from reaction of formaldehyde and dimethylamine hydrochloride and substituted anilines, respectively with 2-ethoxycarbonyl cyclododecanone. Their structures were confirmed by IR ¹H NMR and elemental analysis. Mannich reaction of an amine was occurred at 2nd position of 2-ethoxycarbonyl-cyclododecanone. The preliminary in vitro bioassys of some compounds indicated that some of compounds Ⅳ showed certain fungistatic activity against plant pathogens. 4-Br substituted phenyl aminomethyl-2-ethoxycarbonyl cyclododecanone exerted appreciable inhibitory effect on xylene-induced ear edema in mice.
