Synthesis and the Crystal Structure of Cyclopententylindenyl Ytterium Chloride (1-C₅H₉C₉H₆)₂-Y(μ-Cl)₂Li(THF)₂

The reaction of Li(1-C₅H₉C₉H₆) and anhydrous YCl₃ in 2:1 molar ratio in THF gave the anionic complex (C₅H₉C₉H₆)₂-Y(μ-Cl)₂Li(THF)₂, which was characterized by elemental analysis, IR and X-ray crystal structural analysis. The crystal is orthorhombic with space group Pna2(1), a=1.648 2(7) nm, b=1.877 2(8) nm, c=1.131 7(5) nm, V=3.501(3) nm³, Z=4, D_c=1.285 Mg/m³, M_r=677.48, R=0.068 3 and R_w=0.114 3.
