Synthesis and Biological Activity of Schiff Bases of 2-Amino-5-(4-pyridyl)-1,3,4-Thiodiazol

Ten novel Schiff bases of 2-amino-5-(4-pyridyl)-1,3,4-thiodiazole have been synthesized in the yields of 46.9%~65.8%.The structures of the compounds were confirmed by means of UV,IR,¹H NMR and elemental analysis.The preliminary room bioactivity tests showed that Schiff bases from chlorobenzaldehyde and dichlorobenzaldehyde have a good plant growth regulation activity,where Ⅱc,Ⅱe and Ⅱg have excellent activities while auxin,Ⅱd and Ⅱi have better activities towards cytokinin.
