Silver Nanoparticles Modified with Tetrathiafulvalene

A new tetrathiafulvalene(TTF) modified silver colloid was prepared and characterized by means of TEM,IR,UV-Vis,Raman,and cyclic voltammogram.The surface of the silver nanoparticles was coordinated with 3,4-ethylenedisulfanyl-TTF thiolate.The TTF-modified Ag nanoparticles about 70 nm were monodispersed.Cyclic voltammogram of the TTF-Ag nanoparticles on a Pt electrode showed that it was a redox active nano-system.Two pairs of quasi-reversible redox waves appeared at E_1/2=+0.67 V and E_1/2=+0.86 V,corresponding to TTF/TTF^·+ and TTF^·+/TTF²⁺,respectively.
