Preparation of New Organotin Compounds and Their Application to Esterification Reaction

Two new organotin compounds have been synthesized and characterized by means of IR,¹H NMR and elemental analysis.They were used as efficient Lewis acid catalysts for esterification reactions of carbo-xylic acids with alcohols to afford corresponding saturated esters with 87%~98% yields and unsaturated and tertiary ones with 90%~94% and 54%~68% yields,respectively.The catalysts could be easily filtrated from the reaction mixture and reused.
