Nine uniquely functionalized antifouling acrylamide monomers derived from capsaicin were designed and synthesized.The yield of the reaction and the mp were respectively analyzed,and their stuctures were characterized by ¹H NMR and FTIR.Seven of them including BMA,TMBA,HMTBA,HMMBA,CHBA,BHBA,HDMBA were synthesized for the first time.Growth inhibition assay result in the laboratory shows that those synthesized monomers possess an antifouling activity against Nitzschia closterium in the order of HDMBA >DMBA≈BMA >TMBA≈HMTBA >CHBA >HMMBA >BHBA >HMBA.
