Nitration and Nitrolysis of TAIW with N₂O₅/HNO₃ to Synthesize CL-20

In this article,CL-20 was synthesized via nitration and nitrolysis of 2,6,8,12-tetraacetyl-2,4,6,8,10,12-hexaazatetracyclo[5,5,0,0^3,110^5,9] dodecane(TAIW) with N₂O₅/HNO₃ as the nitrating agent.The product yield was 86.1% and the purity was 99%.The effects of reaction temperature,reaction time,and the molar ratio of the reagents on the yield were also investigated.The optimal reaction conditions were reaction temperature 40℃,reaction time 1 h,and a molar ratio of TAIW:N₂O₅:HNO₃ of 1:4:36.The structure of the compound was characterized by elemental analysis,NMR and MS.
