Preparation and Characterization of 4,4'-Dibromo-6,6'-bis(N,N-bis(ethoxycarbonylmethyl) amino methyl)-2,2'-bipyridine

4,4'-Dibromo-6,6'-bis (N,N-bis (ethoxycarbonylmethyl) amino methyl)-2,2'-bipyridine was prepared from 4,4'-dinitro-6,6'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine N,N-dioxide by esterification with trifluoroacetic anhydride and hydroxymethylation,bromine methylation with HBr,and methylation of amino hydrogen with diethyl iminodiacetate.The structure of this product was determined by DSC,IR,¹H NMR,HPLC and HRMS.The obtained product is an important intermediate for the synthesis of a bi-functional chelate,which could find applications in solid phase time resolved fluoroimmunoassay.
