N',N'-bis(2-chloroethyl)-O-aryl-N³-ethoxycarbonyl substituted methylene ureido phosphoramidates (2) designed as promising antivirus and antitumor agents have been synthesized in excellent yields via the corresponding thiourea derivatives (1) involving a homogeneous desulphunsation reaction as the key step and the possible mechanism is proposed herein.The stability and cleavage of acid-catalyzed hydrolysis of 2 are also discussed.
