Photo-induced Reaction of the Complex Mg⁺-NCSCH₃

Photodissociation spectroscopy of the complex Mg⁺-NCSCH₃ in the spectral region of 230~440 nm was observed. Mass spectrometry of the products for photo-induced reaction in the complex Mg⁺-NCSCH₃ exhibits the product Mg⁺ from nonreaction quenching and reactive products Mg⁺NC, Mg⁺NCS throughout the whole wavelength range. The reactive products originate from the breaking of S－C chemical bonds. The Photodissociation spectrum consists of two broad peaks corresponding to the atomic transition of Mg⁺(3²P←3²S). The absorption spectrum by using CIS method of quantum chemical calculation agrees with the experimental spectrum.
