FeCl₃ catalyzed diarylmethanes formations

Under mild condition, using FeCl₃ as catalyst, a series of functionalized diarylmethanes were prepared efficiently from the reactions of arenes with paraformaldehyde. This catalytic system is not sensitive to air and moisture.
