As DNA cleavage agent, a new diiron (III) complex (Fe₂L_b), in which a DNA-intercalator (pyrene) is covalently linked to a diferric moiety, has been synthesized and characterized. The DNA-binding property and DNA cleavage activity of the complex have also been investigated.
