An efficient synthesis of (5R)-7,7-dimethoxy-5-[1-(2-tert-butyldiphenylsiloxymethyl)vinyl]-2-heptanone,a key intermediate in the synthesis of antitumor cembrane type sinuiariol-D,sinularial-A and sinuiaric acid-A isolated from the soft coral Sinularin moyi was first described from (R)-limonene.
