A New Organo-Directed Titanium Phosphate Phase Containing Zigzag Chains of Corner-Sharing TiO₆ Octahedra

A new organo-directed titanium phosphate,[NH₃CH₂CH₂NH₃]·[TiO(HPO₄)₂], was synthesized by the solvothermal method and its structure was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The structure consists of 1-D zigzag chains built up from trans-corner-sharing titanium oxo octahedra running along the b axis, with fused Ti₂P three-membered rings being attached to the-Ti-O-Ti-O-backbone.
