Preparation,Property and Structure of the Spherical Ni(OH)₂ Particle for Positive Electrode of Alkaline Storage Battery

The optimum technology conditions of preparation of the high density spherical Ni(OH)₂ particles used as active material are reported. The size of the porous particles and crystal grain can be controlled by adjusting the micro crystal growth in order to get a tap density in 1.6 to 2.6 g/mL. Addition of a proper dopant could make the utilization ratio of Ni(OH)₂ close to 100% in the pasted nickel positive electrode.
