A new method for aromatization of ⁵⁽¹⁰⁾-steroidal C₃-dimethyl ketalswith pyridinium hydrobromide perbromide （PHP.Py·HBr·Br₂） to aromatic A ring steroids in high yield （90-95%） is described.
