The vinylidene-bridged cluster μ₃-FcCHCFeCo₂(CO)₉ 2 was prepared by the expansion reaction of ferrocenyl-acetylene dicobalt complex μ-FcCCHCo₂(CO)₆ 1. Benzylideneacetone-tricarbonyliron [(BDA)Fe(CO)₃] was used as the source of Fe(CO)₃. The molecular structure of the cluster 2 was determined by x-ray structural analysis.
