EXTRACTION OF Au (Ⅲ)WITH TRIOCTYLAMINE

The extraction of Au (Ⅲ) with trioctylamine (TOA) in carbon tetrachloride from hydrochloride medium has been studied. The mechanism of the extraction is proposed as follows: AuCl₄^-+(m+1)TOAH⁺Cl_(O)^-TOAH⁺AuCl₄^-·mOAH⁺Cl_(O)^-+Cl^- where (O) represents the organic phase, m=0,1,and logK₀=4.23, logK₁=8.67.
