Synthesis of New Flexibilizer of Epoxy Acrylate Resin

Polyethylene glycol with reactive chain ends was synthesized from maleic anhydride and polyethylene glycol and used as a modifier for the epoxy acrylate resin.The product was characterized by FTIR and ¹H NMR.The influence of reaction temperature and time on the reaction and properties of the reactive polyethylene glycol is discussed.When the molar ratio of the maleic anhydride and polyethylene glycol was 2.1:1,the conversion rate of the reaction reached 95.2% at 75 ℃ for 60 min.The cured sample of reactive polyethylene glycol with epoxy acrylate resin was characterized by FTIR.The results indicate that the reactive polyethylene glycol participated in the curing reaction of the epoxy acrylate resin,forming soft segments in the network,which significantly increased the impact strength of the epoxy acrylate resin.
