2,8-Bis[2'-(4″-pyridyl)ethenyl]-5-ethylcarbazole and 2,8-bis[2'-(2″-pyridyl)ethenyl]-5-ethylcarbazole were synthesized from N-ethyl carbazole at room temperature via a solid-state reaction.Their structures were characterized by ¹H NMR,IR and MS.Two-photon absorption cross-sections were obtained by Z-scan technique.The femtosecond single pulse laser(820 nm) as writing laser was applied to the storage medium for two-photon photobleaching,indicating that they would be three-dimensional optical storage materials.
