Synthesis and Characterization of Soluble Perylene Diimide Light-emitting Materials

Perylene derivatives PeryBr2,DD-PeryBr₂ and DD-PeryBp₂ were synthesized from perylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylic acid bisanhydride and characterized by UV-Vis,FT-IR,¹H NMR,MS,TGA and fluore-scence spectroscopy measurements.The result shows that DD-PeryBp2 is highly soluble in conventional solvents such as toluene,chloroform and THF.The UV-Vis maximal absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy maximal emission of DD-PeryBp₂ are at 548 nm and 576 nm,respectively.TG measurements show that perylene diimides possess good thermal stability and the temperature at which 5% mass loss is observed in nitrogen is 433 ℃.
