Synthesis of 2-Amino Phenyl Hexafluoroisoropanols

A series of 2-amino phenyl hexafluoroisopropanols were prepared from HFA·3H₂O and anilines.The effects of the mole ratio of HFA·3H₂O and aniline,catalyst,solvent,reaction time and substituent on the reaction were investigated.The optimum reaction conditions were selected as follows:90 mmol of HFA·3H₂O,30 mmol of aromatic amine,a mole fraction of TsOH of 6% based on aniline,reflux for 5～35 h.Under these conditions,the conversion and yield were respectively 40%～100% and 39%～99%.The reaction mechanism of aniline and HFA·3H₂O was discussed.
