Synthesis, Structure and Antibacterial Activity of Dithiocarbamate Complex of Bi(Ⅲ)

The tris(N,N-iminodiethanoldithiocarbamate) bismuth(Ⅲ) complex (Bi₂(deadtc)₆) has been synthesized and its structure has been investigated by single crystal X-ray diffractometry. The binuclear complex is centrosymmetric. The resulting coordination polyhedron appears a distorted octahedra with four strong (0.266 7~0.280 9 nm) and two weak (0.306 3~0.310 5 nm) Bi-S bonds. Experiments show that the antibacterial activity of the complex is superior to that of the ligand and that of Mancozeb.
