Quantitative Analysis of Vitamin B₆ by Cyclic Voltammetry

The carboxylated MWNT was dispersed in acetone and a drop of the suspension on GCE was dried to yield a multi-wall carbon nanotube modified glassy carbon electrode(MWNT/GCME). Vitamin B₆ could be directly determined using the MWNT/GCME as working electorde by cyclic voltammetry in a buffer solution of NH₄Cl-NH₃·H₂O(pH=8.0). The results showed that the peak current was proportional to the concentration of VB₆ over the concentration range of 1.0×10^-6 to 1.0×10^-3 mol/L at the scan rate of 100 mV/s, and the detection limit was 1.0×10^-6 mol/L with a correlation coeffecient of 0.998. Using this modified electrode, the VB₆ content in a VB₆ tablet was determined satisfactorily.
