Extraction of Fe²⁺ from Wollastonite and Spectral Property of CaSiO₃:Eu³⁺

The extraction of ferrous ions from natural wollastonite was carried out with a mixture of oxalic acid and O-phenanthroline. The leaching percentage of ferrous ions, concentration of extracting reagent, extracting time and temperature on the extraction were investigated in the extraction procedure. Under the optimum extracting conditions, the leaching percentage of ferrous ions is up to 98.35%. The luminescence material was synthesized by ceramics method with Eu³⁺-doped wollastonite.And the luminescence intensity of the material almost approached that of chemically synthesized CaSiO₃:Eu³⁺.
