The present paper covers the electrochemical behavior of the interaction of Vitamin B₁₂ with DNA at pH 4.87.After adding DNA in the Vitamin B₁₂ solution,the reduction current of Vitamin B₁₂ decreases.From the determination of the electrochemical parameters(charge transfer coefficient α and standard electron transfer rate constant k_s) in the absence and presence of DNA,it was found that an electrochemical inactive supermolecular complex DNA-VB₁₂ was formed.A series of equations was deduced for this kind of system.The equilibrium constant of this complex was calculated to be 1.6×10⁵) mol/L).The decrease in peak current of VB₁₂ is proportional to DNA concentration and it can be used to determine DNA concentration.
