Synthesis and Characterization of Polyorganophosphazene with Pendant Carbazolyl Groups

Two new polyorganophosphazenes containing carbazolyl side groups were obtained from poly(dichlorophosphazene) via nucleophilic substitution reaction.The chemical structures of these polymers were characterized by IR,¹H NMR,³¹P NMR and UV-Vis.The results demonstrate that the substitution of the chlorine by the carbazolyl group was complete,and the UV-vis absorption maximum of the polymer was consistent with that of carbazolyl group.GPC results show that the molecular weights of these polymers are 34 700 and 11 300,respectively.The DSC results indicate that the two amorphous polyphosphazenes exhibit low glass transition temperatures,and they begin to decompose at around 300℃.
