Two coordination polymers based on 4-[(8-hydroxy-5-quinolinyl)azo]-benzenesulfonic acid(H2L), namely [CuL(en)]·0.5H2O (1) and [CuL2][Cu(en)2]·2H2O (2)(en=ethylenediamine) have been solvothermally synthesized and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, infrared (IR) spectra, elemental analysis, powder X-ray diffractions (PXRD) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). compounds 1 and 2 are connected into three-dimensional (3D) supramolecular networks by both hydrogen bonding and π…π interactions. In addition, their fluorescent properties have been investigated. CCDC: 881778, 1; 889463, 2.
