Isostructural Lanthanide Complexes (La, Ce) of Diphenyl-quinolinyloxy Acetamide Ligand: Syntheses, Structures and Fluorescent Properties

Two isostructural lanthanide complexes, [LnL₂(NO₃)₃] (L=N,N-diphenyl-2-(quinolin-8-yloxy)acetamide, Ln=La(Ⅲ), 1; Ce(Ⅲ), 2) were synthesized and characterized by X-ray diffraction. In each complex, center metal ion is coordinated to four oxygen and two nitrogen atoms from two independent acetamide ligands and also to six oxygen atoms from three nitrate anions, possessing a coordination geometry closer to a distorted icosahedron. In CH₃CNsolution, both complexes exhibit strong fluorescence emission. CCDC: 941145, 1; 941146, 2.
