Organic chemistry is a fundamental course in universities, which not only provides core knowledge and skills for undergraduate students but also lays a solid foundation for their successful career in scientific research and employment. Taking the basic course of organic chemistry in higher education institutions as an example, we explore the curriculum ideological and political education paradigm of “conceptual guidance, fostering ethics and character, in-depth case studies, and diverse assessments” under the overall goal of “cultivating students’ moral integrity and character”. Multiple rounds of teaching practice have shown that this paradigm is effective and feasible in enhancing students’ ideological and moral qualities and has the potential to become a new paradigm for ideological and moral education in agricultural and forestry colleges, with potential for broader application in other courses.
