Laboratory Teaching Exploration of Science and Education Integration under the Background of “Emerging Engineering Education”: Taking MnO₂ Catalytic Oxidation of VOCs as an Example

The teaching mode of science and education integration is the inevitable choice for college teachers to combine scientific research projects with teaching under the condition of “emerging engineering education”. Three-dimensional (3D) hierarchical MnO₂ catalysts are prepared by hydrothermal method and used to the catalytic oxidation of VOCs, and the whole experiment is introduced into undergraduate teaching. Furthermore, the experiment includes “literature research → group discussion → catalyst preparation → activity evaluation and material characterization → experimental data analysis and discussion → scientific research report presentation”, etc., which strengthens the grasp of theoretical knowledge, cultivates the practical ability and improves the innovation capacity for students. Besides, we try to achieve the goal of cultivating advanced applied technology talents with excellent teamwork spirit and innovative awareness via the teaching concept of science and education integration.
