在新工科背景下，合肥工业大学应用化学专业通过调整专业培养目标、课程体系、教学内容、教学模式以及师资队伍建设等方面的探索实践，实现了应用化学专业工程创新能力的增强，满足了当今社会对应用化学专业人才的需求。该实践对以新工科理念改造升级传统专业具有一定的指导意义。
