活性炭是吸附能力较强的炭材料的统称，广谱性与特异性均可以通过制备与处理方法进行调节，其在杂质净化的应用方面具有举足轻重的地位。本文运用拟人化的手法，生动形象地展现活性炭的分类及其部分性质，旨在让读者在趣味阅读中充分了解活性炭家族的性质、功能及其应用。
