Rh-catalyzed Asymmetric Hydrogenation of β,γ-Unsaturated Phosphonates with WalPhos Ligands

An enantioselective synthesis of chiral alkylphosphonates bearing a β-stereogenic center,based on the Rh-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of corresponding β-substituted β,γ-unsaturated phosphonates with(R_c,S_p)-WalPhos ligand under the mild hydrogenation conditions(1.0 MPa hydrogen pressure and room temperature),was developed.The full conversions can be achieved and an ee value of up to 87% is obtained.
