Inclusion Properties of Piroxicam by β-Cyclodextrin and Its Derivatives

The inclusion properties of piroxicam(PX) by β-cyclodextrin(β-CD),hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin(HP-β-CD),and sulfobutyl ether-β-cyclodextrin(SBE-β-CD) were studied by fluorescence spectroscopy,differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and NMR at different pH.The results showed that the 1: 2.5 inclusion compounds were formed between piroxicam and CDs.Based on the formation constants,which were 2.0×10⁶,1.8×10⁶,1.2×10⁶ in neutral media,the inclusion capacity showed the order of SBE-β-CD >HP-β-CD >β-CD.
