A Nd³⁺ MOF, namely {[Nd(bpt)(DMF)(H₂O)]·2H₂O}_n (1) (H₃bpt=biphenyl-3, 4', 5-tricarboxylic acid, DMF=N, N-dimethylformamide), has been obtained by the self-assemble reaction of NdCl₃·6H₂O and H₃bpt ligand under solvothermal conditions (DMF/H₂O). Complex 1 was characterized by means of elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. Single-crystal X-ray structural analysis reveals that complex 1 displays three-dimensional frameworks featuring a (5, 5)-connected topological network with the point symbol of 4⁴·6³·8³)(4⁸ 6²). In addition, the thermal stability, luminescent properties, photocatalytic behaviour, and magnetic property of complex 1 were also investigated in detail in the solid state.
