Two Zn(Ⅱ) coordination complexes, [Zn₂(L)₂Cl₄] (1) and[Zn(L)₂Cl₂]·2H₂O (2) (L=4-pyridiyl-NH-1, 2, 3-triazole) are synthesized by reaction of ZnCl₂·2H₂O with rigid ligand L. Single crystal diffraction reveals that 1 and 2 crystallizes in space groups, P1 and P2₁/n, respectively. In the structures of 1 and 2, supramolecular interactions play important role in forming 3D structures. Photoluminescent properties of 1 and 2 in solid state and dilute methanolic solutions have been investigated in detail.
