Two novel complexes, [Co^ⅡCo₄^Ⅲ(salhn)₄(N₃)₆(CH₃OH)₂(H₂O)₂]·4CH₃OH·2H₂O (1) and[Cu₂(salhn)(N₃)₂]_n (2) (H₂salhn=N, N'-bis(salicylidene)hydrazine), were synthesized and structurally characterized by X-ray single-crystal diffraction. Complex 1 is a zigzag-like penta-nuclear[Co^ⅡCo₄^Ⅲ] cobalt cluster, while complex 2 consists of a 1D chain containing subunit[Cu₂(salhn)(N₃)₂]. Both complexes possess bridged azide with the end-on (EO, μ-1, 1) coordination fashion. The magnetic measurements indicate that 1 and 2 both show antiferromagnetic behaviors.
