Preparation and Photocatalytic Performance of CNT/β-AgVO₃ Hybrid Materials for Oxygen Evolution from Water

β-AgVO₃ nanowires with monoclinic structure were synthesized by hydrothermal method. C nanotube (CNT) as an effective cocatalyst was loaded onto β-AgVO₃ photocatalyst. The photocatalytic activity of CNT/β-AgVO₃ was performed by its O₂ evolution performance under UV-Vis irradiation while KIO₃ was used as electron acceptor, and the photocatalyst was characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM and UV-Vis absorption spectrum. The results showed that the photocatalytic activity of CNT/β-AgVO₃ was superior to that of pure β-AgVO₃, and loaded CNT can improve the interfacial electron transfer and the O₂ evolution. When the amount of loaded CNT was 1%(wt), the stable average oxygen evolution rate was about 250 μmol·g^-1·h^-1.
