Transition metal-catalyzed conversion of aldehydes to ketones

  • Author Bio: Zijuan Yan was born in 1997 in Jiangxi Province. Now she is a graduate student at Northwestern Polytechnical University under the guidance of Professor Fei-Peng Liu and Professor Zi-Qiang Rong. Her research focuses on the development of efficient synthetic methods for new heterocyclic compounds
Pan-Lin Shao was born in Sichuan province. He obtained his PhD with Professor Song Ye at Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2011, and was a postdoctoral research fellow in the group of Zhao Yu at National University of Singapore from February 2012 to July 2014. He is now working at Southern University of Science and Technology as a research associate professor. His current research interest lies in asymmetric hydrogenation and its applications in active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacture
Qing Qiang was born in 1996 in Shaanxi. Now he is a graduate student at Northwestern Polytechnical University under the guidance of Prof. Zi-Qiang Rong. His research focuses on the development of efficient and selective synthetic methods
Fei-Peng Liu obtained his BS degree from Zhengzhou University in 2007. From 2007 to 2012, he worked as a metal surface treatment engineer in Shenzhen. To pursue academic research, then he moved to Beijing, and got his Ph.D. degree in Organic Chemistry from China Agricultural University in 2019 under the supervision of Prof. Jiang-Chun Zhong and Qing-Hua Bian. From 2017 to 2019, he worked as a visiting researcher focusing on organometallic chemistry at the University of Chicago advised by Prof. Guangbin Dong. He then became an Associate Professor at Institute of Flexible Electronics of Northwestern Polytechnical University. His research is focused on the design and synthesis of new transition metal catalysts for asymmetric catalysis

Yongjie Li was born in 1992 in Henan province. He obtained master degree from Liaoning University in 2020 under the supervision of Prof. Yao Zhang. His research focuses on the asymmetric catalysis
Zi-Qiang Rong was born in Zibo, Shandong, China. He obtained a joint master degree from Shenyang University of Chemical Technology and Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (SIOC) in 2011 under the supervision of Prof. Shu-Li You, and then completed his Ph.D. degree in organic chemistry in 2016 at National University of Singapore under the guidance of Professor Yu Zhao. After that, he worked with Prof. Guangbin Dong at the University of Chicago as a postdoctoral associate in the field of transition metal catalysis. Since 2018, he joined Institute of Flexible Electronics at Northwestern Polytechnical University as a professor. His research focuses on the development of efficient, sustainable catalytic methods for green and effective organic transformations and asymmetric catalysis
